Emotionsin colour
Natalia Badan is a visual artist from Chișinău, with over 20 years of experience in painting and art education. She studied at the “Alexandru Plămădeală” College of Fine Arts and at the State University of Arts in Chișinău.
She works in two registers: landscape and still life, painted mostly alla prima (old houses, monasteries and gardens of Moldova, flowers, quinces), and abstract painting, where colour, gesture and rhythm become pure emotion. For her, plein-air painting is a space for a sensitive exploration of nature and inner states.
She regularly takes part in international painting symposia, such as “Vasile Grigore” (Hârsa, Romania) and “Art in Bucovina” (Ciocănești), and exhibits in Moldova and Romania. She teaches fine arts at the “Igor Vieru” Academic Lyceum of Fine Arts and runs the Artelit Gallery.
A plein-air play, an analysis of space, colour and light. In these works we see a continuity between modern art and traditional art.

Enplein air
Many of Natalia’s landscapes are painted outdoors, directly in front of the motif, at international painting symposia in Hârsa, Ciocănești and Tudora. There the light changes from hour to hour, and each canvas is painted in one go, alla prima.
